Active Learning
A program for toddlers and twos
2 Days: Tuesday and Thursday
3 Days: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
5 Days: Monday - Friday
Times: available 7:15 AM – 6:00 PM. Families are encouraged to drop off and pick up their children at times that best suit their needs and schedule.
Active Learning I
Ages: Approximately 18 – 24 months
Active Learning I provides your child with strong foundation for developmental success.
Brief Description: This program at SJES will utilize the Active Learning approach for Toddlers. This evidence-based program supports a child's social-emotional, language, physical, and cognitive development, which are vital to the child's success in school and later in life. It provides a wealth of activities to help children develop their minds and bodies in a safe and healthful environment. In this program, children will work on skills including but not limited to established concept of self, including body parts and uses, five senses, and ability to control own actions and early development of verbal communication skills including simple verbs, phrases, and sentences.
Active Learning II
Ages: Approximately 2 – 3
Active Learning II is a designed to help your two-year-old learn and grow.
Brief Description: This program at SJES will utilize the Active Learning approach for Twos. This curriculum emphasizes developmentally appropriate practice and creating daily routines and meaningful experiences that respond to children's strengths, interests, and needs. It rests on a strong foundation of child development theory and scientific research. In this program, children will work on skills including but not limited to participation in daily routines and activities; socially acceptable expression of emotions; awareness of health, safety, and respect for their bodies, including a healthy concept of self; and development of gross and fine motor skills. Ongoing potty training support is also an integral part of this program.
